Promoting Kobe Airport
Kobe Airport was opened on February 16, 2006. It is an airport on an artificial island just off the coast of Kobe. It is designated as a third class airport administrated by the local government. It primarily handles domestic flights, but can also accommodate international charter flights and business jets. First year operation results totaled 2,697,279 passengers.
Kobe Airport is only 8 km from central Kobe. It takes only 15 minutes by car to downtown Kobe from the airport.
KCCI played a major role in the construction of Kobe Airport as one way of promoting the local economy. We expect that Kobe Airport will attract not only foreign companies, but also Japanese companies here to Kobe.
