Liaison with Prefectural and City Governments
Conference with Prefectural Office
Local government organizations in Japan, such as the City Office and the Prefectural Office, have the power to influence economic trends in their administrative districts. Both of these bodies maintain trade sections with many staff members. They allocate significant budgeted resources to promote trade. They provide financing for both export and import trade through city banks, and offer incentives for holding trade fairs and negotiations with local manufacturers.
Major chambers of commerce and industry in Japan, too, perform many activities for the development of general trade in cooperation with city and prefectural offices. Missions are sent abroad, and lectures and conferences are held often under joint sponsorship with local governments.
Before local governments compile their budgets, we meet with officials in order to hear their plans and make suggestions.
